What Happens When NBA 2K17 Picks Your DraftKings Lineup?
How accurate can a NBA 2K17 MT simulation be? NBA 2K16 almost predicted last year,NBA Finals, only you know.
Even with that simulation being a little off, I figured I'd do something a little different and try to see how accurately NBA 2K17 MT could predict the best DraftKings lineup for me on March 7. I picked this day because there is only three games on the schedule, and it would create fewer box scores to cycle through.
Even with a relatively small schedule, it turned out to be a tougher task than I expected.
NBA 2K17 didn't think Russell Westbrook would explode against the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday. In fact, it was the Blazers' Damian Lillard going off for the biggest scoring output of the day, and some solid rebounding and assists numbers as well.
Drafting Lillard seemed like a no-brainer, but some of the other decisions weren't so easy. The Los Angeles Lakers' Jordan Clarkson and Angelo Russell each eclipsed to 20-point mark, but I couldn't draft both of them, could I? Brandon Knight of the Phoenix Suns went off for 28 and 5.
That especially noteworthy considering his DraftKings salary for the day is a mere $3,000. If I'm in complete obedience to the simulation results, I have to draft him. Right?
The Washington Wizards weren't powered by John Wall on this day. Instead, Bradley Beal and the newly acquired Bogdan Bogdanovic led the way for the Wizards. Another potential bargain bonanza was the Blazers Noah Vonleh.
The simulation has him getting a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. He too has a DK salary of $3,000 for the evening. I guess he'll be on the team as well.
On Tuesday evening, I'll know how well this lineup did for me. The contest I entered cost me just $4, which was well worth the experiment, even if I lose. Check back for an update on Wednesday to see how I did.
